Cape Town, 23 April 2026 –

Amethis, Proparco, ccap.ai and management are proud to announce the completion of their investment in Vertice MedTech Holdings (“Vertice”).

Founded in 2018 by a management group lead by Hendri Pretorius and in partnership with Ethos Private Equity, Vertice has established itself as the number one independent distributor of specialised medical devices and a pioneer in healthcare software and mobile healthcare solutions in Southern Africa.

With more than 780 employees and three distribution centres in Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town, and regional centres in Port Elizabeth, George and Bloemfontein, Vertice has emerged as one of the fastest-growing companies in South Africa, enhancing access to high-quality healthcare devices and solutions across Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Group maintains exclusive distribution agreements with leading international manufacturers, including Abbott, Stryker and Haemonetics and 100+ other manufacturers, enabling the delivery of advanced medical technologies across key segments such as Cardiovascular, Urology, Orthopaedics and Spine.

Vertice operates through two main business tiers: Vertice Healthcare, focused on specialised medical devices, and Vertice Software, which develops digital health solutions. The Software division focuses on comprehensive solutions – from advanced clinical workflow tools to AI-driven diagnostics – all delivered through a globally scalable SaaS model.

By enabling more than 7,000 surgeries every month, Vertice contributes to stronger health systems, better patient outcomes and broader socio-economic development. Improved healthcare access supports earlier diagnosis and treatment, reduces the burden of disease and helps build healthier, more productive and more resilient communities.

Through this investment, the consortium backs the executive management team to support Vertice’s next phase of growth by accelerating organic expansion across its core verticals and modalities. The Group will continue to strengthen its strong market position by gaining further market share, entering new markets and focusing on high-growth segments. Looking ahead, the continued expansion of the software division is expected to scale the business in Europe, while selectively pursuing M&A opportunities where strategically relevant.

Hendri Pretorius, Group CEO and Jonathan Lowick, Group CFO at Vertice, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Amethis, Proparco and ccap ai as our partners in Vertice’s next phase of growth (Vertice 2.0). Their combined sector expertise, international footprint and strong network are ideally suited to support our expansion across Africa and Europe. We look forward to working closely together, leveraging our complementary strengths to accelerate Vertice’s development.”

Marieke Geurts, Managing Director at Amethis South Africa, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Vertice and its management team to support the company’s next stage of growth. Vertice has built a unique platform at the intersection of medical devices and digital health, two critical pillars for improving access to quality healthcare in South Africa and beyond. This investment aligns with our strategy of backing high-growth businesses that combine strong financial performance with meaningful impact.”

Tibor Asboth, Head of Private Equity Africa at Proparco added: “Proparco is pleased to invest alongside Amethis, a trusted long-term partner, ccap ai and Management, to support Vertice in its next phase of growth. As a leading platform in medical technology and digital health, Vertice plays an important role in strengthening healthcare systems and expanding access to quality care in Southern Africa. This investment fully reflects Proparco’s commitment to supporting high-impact businesses that contribute to sustainable development across the continent.”

Willem Roos, partner at ccap.ai concluded: “We are excited to continue supporting Vertice, as it represents the type of high-quality, data-driven platform we seek to back, combining strong execution with significant potential to harness technology across the healthcare value chain. We believe technology will play a transformative role in improving access, efficiency and patient outcomes, particularly in underserved markets. Together with our partners, we look forward to supporting Vertice’s management team in scaling a business that not only delivers strong growth, but also contributes meaningfully to the evolution of healthcare systems.”
